Bragging on The Bridle Horses

I've had my doubts about whether Jolene should be showing down the fence. She's not a super fast horse, so we haven't shown well on fast cows. Also, she was just getting fit enough to do cow work since recovering from her bout with laminitis last year. Last month, I put her in a boxing class, just to play it safe physically and to see if I could make a boxing horse out of her. She took me down the fence, without my consent. We provided the day's entertainment. But I couldn't get mad at her for staying with her fast cow, we've been really working on that.

This weekend Jolene did her first fence class since her bout with laminitis last year. She owned the pen and owned her position on the cow. She went down the fence like a little ball of fire. She won two checks in the Open Bridle, and Limited Open Bridle Classes.

My other bridle horse, Maybellene, who is now owned by Shelly Mitchell, went to a show on Sunday and brought home a bucket of ribbons. Shelly is only showing her in low key local shows because Maybellene is in foal to Bet Hesa Boon.
