My show team and I had great fun at the Bear Valley Buckaroos ranch horse show in Tehachapi yesterday. It was a big show! Even the Open had 11 riders. I took my own bridle horse Jolene. She doesn’t tend to like shows that don’t have cows in them, but she did amazing yesterday. And, believe it or not, she got along with her neighbors in the overnight pens. I think I got 3rd overall, my trail score kicked me out. We placed top 3 otherwise.
AJ won reserve champion in the Youth division. He showed against a couple of 18 year old riders with nice horses and held his own! That’s amazing. Oh~ and he did the whole show with a broken wrist in a cast~ his rein hand! I think there were 11 riders in the youth.
Neva and Breeze did well in their division. Respectable scores out of 13 riders, always top 5.
Traci went in a trail class and did well, but had to scratch the rest of her classes because the show went over time and she and Todd had to get back to work early today.
